The Glock 17 magazine is a composite steel and polymer fabrication. The Glock magazine encases a toughened and hardened steel insert in Polymer 2. Due to this design the steel insert protects the magazine lips. Invented by Gaston Glock himself, Polymer 2 is a high strength nylon based polymer. As a result, this polymer makes the Glock Magazine incredibly durable.
Glock 17 magazine made from Polymer 2
Polymer 2 is more resilient than steel. Consequently this composite magazine assembly can withstand a lot of abuse and still continue functioning. Especially relevant is that the Glock magazine will withstand visible damage or deformation after being dropped on solid floors from serious height.
Reliable Ammunition Feeding:
The Glock magazine spring is made from selected and expertly heat treated steels. As a result of the accurately manufactured spring and follower, the Glock Magazine feeds ammunition with total reliability. The magazine body has twin cuts. Due to this the Glock 17 Magazine is compatible with all Glock Gen 4 semi auto pistols with the magazine catch in left or right handed configuration.
