Inspired by 19th century English Jack knives, the swayback pattern is a stylish and extremely functional cutting tool. In his latest Spyderco collaboration, renowned Polish knifemaker Marcin Slysz supercharges this classic design by rendering it with state-of-the-art materials and craftsmanship. The SwayBack's hollow-ground Wharncliffe blade is crafted from CTS-XHP stainless steel and has a handsome stonewashed finish. It is housed in an open-backed handle constructed with solid titanium scales. Both scales are beautifully crowned for comfort and the reverse-side scale forms the foundation of a sturdy Reeve Integral Lock (RIL) with a stainless steel interface. A polished stainless steel clip provides convenient carry and is reversible for left or right-side tip-up access.

The Spyderco Military 2 C36GP2 is a large and sturdy pocket knife for various applications. This knife was designed in 1996 by Sal Glesser, the founder and owner of Spyderco. His goal was to develop a light-weight folding knife for general military use which could actually handle the task. Considering the popularity of the Military he was very successful in achieving his goals. The Military 2 is a variation of the first version. The first version has a linerlock, but this model has a compression lock on the back of the knife.

Full-flat ground from thick 4mm (0.157-inch) stock, the PlainEdge™ blade of this knife is supported by skeletonized stainless steel liners that form the foundation of its high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. The liners are nested within injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales that feature a Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure, non-slip grip. The Yojimbo 2's more refined design—backed by Janich's relentless promotion of the Wharncliffe as a tactical blade profile—have helped it earn a solid place in Spyderco’s product line. Since it was purpose-designed as a self-defense knife, the live-blade version was joined by a dedicated trainer model in 2017. In an interesting example of "reverse evolution"—and with the help of custom knifemaker Mickey Yurco—the Yojimbo 2 also inspired a near-identical fixed-blade counterpart, the Ronin 2.nnBased on its enduring popularity and repeated requests from Spyderco forumites, we are proud to announce the latest addition to the Spyderco/Janich Wharncliffe family: the all-black Yojimbo 2. Like the satin-bladed version, it features a hollow-ground CPM S30V blade, Compression Lock, peel-ply-textured G-10 scales, and a four-position hourglass pocket clip. However, all parts of the knife—including its nested stainless steel liners and Compression Lock—are cloaked in non-reflective black coatings. The blade features a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, and all other parts also have durable black coatings appropriate to their base materials. In addition to satisfying Yojimbo 2 fans who have been clamoring for an all-black version, this knife is historically significant as it is the first Compression Lock model to feature black-coated liners.

The refined features of the Salt 2 and Pacific Salt 2 found immediate favor with Spyderco fans, many of whom were also intrigued by the performance potential of Spyderco's other ultra-corrosion-resistant blade steel—LC200N. Taking this evolutionary process one step further, Spyderco decided to make the investment to ship LC200N steel to Japan so it could be incorporated into the latest versions of the Salt lightweight models manufactured there. The result is a family of Salt folding knives proudly featuring LC200N blade steel and vibrant high-visibility green handles. Taking full advantage of the unique properties of this martensitic steel, the blades of these knives feature full-flat grinds for exceptional edge geometry and low-friction cutting performance. joerd Stok is a Dutch marketing specialist for one of Europe’s largest retailers of knives and outdoor gear. He is also a classically trained artist with a deep passion for knives. While attending art school, he learned the value of an everyday carry utility knife, but preferred the simplicity of a small fixed blade. Putting his talents to work, he designed two compact, legally friendly “urban fixed blades” that bear his name. The Stok Bowie showcases a saberground Bowie-style blade crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel.
